Planned order is not creating in planning book!

Experts,

  When am running heuristic in planning book, system doesn't create any planned order but when we are running heuristic in product view (SAPAPO/RRP3) it creates planner order for the same item. Can any one help me on it?

Hi Vijesh,

Running a heuristic in the product view is not the same as running the heuristic in the planning book.

For the planning book, you need a source-of-supply such as a SNP Production Data Structure or SNP Production Process Model.  A PP/DS source-of-supply is used to create orders in the product view.

SNP Heuristic is an infinite planning tool....and hence it should create an order even if you don't have a

source of supply...may be other factors are causing this...example lotsize/rounding.SNP horizon/Lead Time(GI/GR).etc can delay the order--- order might be avaialble a bit later in the horizon--just scroll till the end of the grid and check first or something wrong in your palnning book...Did you check using SNP Standard planning book 9ASNP94?

What happens if u create a SNP Planned order mnually in the grid...if it was successful..then SNP heuristic should create one too..I hope this gives the correct direction for your solution..if not let me know...Do you see any value in the row 'Supply shortage'..It occurs in which date/bucket?..Just check the row'planned order' in the same column/date...

Product view is a PPDS planning tool, and Planning Book is a SNP planning tool.

When you run heuristic in product view, it calls product heuristic or other variable heuristic, explore PPDS source of supply. It also consider PPDS planning horizon. Usually PPDS planned order will be created before PPDS planning horizon.

When you run heuristic in planning book,  it call SNP heuristic such as location heuristic, network heuristic. etc.. It will explores SNP souce of supply and generate receipts to cover demand shortages. it also consider SNP planning horizon. SNP planned order should be created after SNP production horizon.
