Screen Variant SHD0

Dear Friends

The requirement is to make the 'material dsecription' field in SO, Non-editable. (display mode)

I tried to create  a screen variant in SHD0 & assigned it in VOV8 of sales doc type. It's not working.

Can anyone guide me, how to make 'material description" in VA01 non-editable by SHD0?

Hello Sumanth,

Ideally it should work & it would be hard for us to judge why it is not working in your case.

The alternatives that you have are:

1. Create a Transaction Variant in SHD0

2. Apply a User Exit & make the Description Field as non-modifiable.

I have tried in my system this transaction SHD0 just check whether u activate the variant  in SHD0

Check, to which document type you assigned that Transaction variant.Go to header document of sale order and check which document type it is.
