UNX for SAP

Hi, all.

I have some problem. We have sap bo4.0 sp02 patch 13. And we want build webi report that use data from two Infocube. I want to know can I use Data Foundation in Information Design Tool to connect this two infocube? Or I must create MultiCube? I read a lot of articles about this, bit they all don't say about SAP BW.

Regard.

Hello Fanil,

I am not sure if the following that I suggest will work for you because I have not personally tried. But just a thought.

> Create a new project

> Create two relational connections each one corresponding to the respective infocubes.

Refer the following link on how to create a connection on a infocube:

http://scn.sap.com/community/bi-platform/businessobjects-bi-for-sap/blog/2012/04/19/creating-a-unive...

> Publish each of the connections to create the shortcut(.cns)

> Create a new data foundation layer with Multisource Enabled option

> Select both the connections created.

> At this stage, I guess you will have both the infocube availabe at the data foundation layer upon which you can create a business layer as well.

View the following two videos on how to create a multisource universe( not based on infocubes though). They might be helpful.

Hope this helps.

Hi,  Madhumitha.

Thank you for advise, but I know it, I try this way. But I have some problem in this way

1. Not all atribute of my InfoObject I can see in Data foundation

2. Very bad perfomance

Hello Fanil,

I cannot comment on the perfomance part. But ideally all the attributes must be visible.

I am not sure why it is so in your case.

Hi Fanil,

You can go thorugh this document to know more about the benefits of .unx in general. This might not be directly linked to your actual query but it is a very informative material.

HI

The only possible way is to go thru  UNX only

Option 1 : Create a Mulit source universe ( non olap - then Select Ur infocube )  link at universe level if possible

Option 2 : Create two Multi Source Universe ( non olap) Link them at report level using merge dimensions

Vijay
