Automatic Outlier Correction does not work

Hi all

We are facing a problem regarding outlier correction in SAP SCM 7.0. After running forecast in the planning book (interactive and background), outliers are not corrected, even if there are picks and lows in history.

Here are some settings in our Forecast Profile:

Forecast Strategy = 60 (Historical data adopted)

Sigma = 1,25

Outlier Correction = Median Method

We have already implemented the following Notes:

1629741

1670740

We are using Forecast Strategy 60 because our forecast must be based on the history without outliers.

Any suggestion? Is the adopted strategy correct?

Hi Fabrizio,

Which Service pack are you in? If you are in SP10 then please also implement

OSS note:1669309.

It will work perfectly fine.

Thank you everybody!

Requirements have been changed: now we have to use strategy "40 - Forecast with seasonal trend models".

Any suggestions about how to set the Forecast Profile with this strategy? We have to base on 3 years of history.

Hello Fabrizio,

Please try Outlier Correction = Ex-Post Method

and rest settings as usual.

Check if it works or not.

Have you tried to run with another strategy?

Try another strategy and post the results.
