vendor lot size needs to be consider during optimization

Hi,

We are running the network optimizer with one plant:1207 where limited capacity and another third party vendors: 0010000453 ( unlimited capacity) and one DC:1301(Demand location)

Scenario:

The demand from 1301 will propagate to Plant:1207 as per the capacity at 1207 and multiple of PDS lot size: 136,363 rest demand will go to vendor location: 0010000453 with multiple of lot size of 100000.

By optimizer will decide to propagate the demand to 1207 and utilize the 100% capacity because of low cost.

Rest demand from 1301 will propagate to vendor as purchase requisition to meet the demand at 1301.

To map this scenario, below is the master data setting for transportation lane:

Transportation cost is low from 1301 to 1207 and high for 1301 to 0010000453.

The scenario is working but the optimizer is not throughing the demand to vendor location multiple of 100000 as the lot size of vendor. For detals requirements and master data setting doc is attached.

The requirement is to propagate the demand from HUB to vendor as per the lot size of vendor.

Thanks,

sankar

Hi Sankar,

  • Define a t.lane specific lot size profile (SPRO path: IMG>APO>SCP>SNP>Profiles>Define SNP lot size profile) with your vendor specific values (especially the rounding value as 100000 based on your description).
  • Create product specific means of transport and assign this lot size profile to it.
  • Create/change the transportation lane connecting your DC and vendor so that it will be attached to product specific means of transport defined above.
  • Ensure that the parameter 'Opt.: Transp. Lot Sz' of global SNP settings set to Transportation lane. (SPRO path: IMG>APO>SCP>SNP>Basic Settings>Maintain Global SNP settings).

This will ensure that generated PReqs follow lot size profile settings.

Thanks,
Rajesh
