BOP queue error, no sender e-mail address found

We have been running BOP for years in APO (4.1). But recently we have started to see errors on some SD orders in the CIF queue with error:

"no sender e-mail address found" and no further log info, due to this error the BOP update cannot be sent to R3.

There is no further info on the log about what this might be. It does not seem to refer to the user who has run the BOP (since that user has an email defined).

I've sent the issue to SAP but they've not responded so far.

Anyone seen this before or have any idea at all where to look for this "sender" e-mail ?

Regards

Simon

Simon,

This does not sound like something that is APO related; it sounds more like an ECC email issue.  If this is the case, then the user mentioned is not the person who ran the BOP, but the RFC Userid that is used for the interface APO > ECC.

We figured it out with help from SAP, thought i would report back. It's close to what DB wrote

We had an output defined on the relevant SD order type. But the condition records were not in place when a bunch of these orders were entered. These records have been defined now.

This means that all orders taken before this change were missing an output - and when the orders were edited in any way this output was generated (as it should be). Part of this generation relies on the use doing the edit's email address.

Now, this works fine when a user does it, but when the BOP does it it does not work since BOP runs with a system user with a minimum setup (no email set).

So our solution will involve cleaning up the old orders without the right output + adding a noreply@company.com email adress to our system user.
