SRM SC Budget Check

Former Member

Hi Experts,

SRM 7 EHP 1

ECC 6 EHP 3

Classic scenario

We have Funds Management and Investment Management modules performing budget check during PR creation in ECC. There are no customizations and the standard configurations have been used for budget allocation etc.

Queries -

1. While trying to create a SC in SRM will the same type of budget checks (as per ECC) be applicable on the account assignment objects used in the SC?

2. Is there any restricition on the account assignment objects on which the budget check functionality works in SRM?

3. Does the commitment get posted in ECC during creation of SC  / approval of SC / on creation of PO? Is this dependent on the configuration set for commitment posting in ECC?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Amish

Hi,

1. While trying to create a SC in SRM will the same type of budget checks (as per ECC) be applicable on the account assignment objects used in the SC?

-> Which account assignment object do you use? For budget checks WBS element works fine in SRM.

2. Is there any restriction on the account assignment objects on which the budget check functionality works in SRM?

-> There is no as such restriction on account assignment object. Budget check functionality works just fine in SRM.

3. Does the commitment get posted in ECC during creation of SC  / approval of SC / on creation of PO? Is this dependent on the configuration set for commitment posting in ECC?

-> Commitment will be posted after creation of SC & it depends upon commitment posting in ECC.

I hope it will help you to implement budget check functionality in SRM.

Hi Vinay,

Thanks for your quick reply.

1. While trying to create a SC in SRM will the same type of budget checks (as per ECC) be applicable on the account assignment objects used in the SC?

-> Which account assignment object do you use? For budget checks WBS element works fine in SRM.

Amish:

In ECC the account assignment objects used in Funds Management : CC

In ECC the account assignment objects used in Investment Management : WBS, Network, Work Order

2. Is there any restriction on the account assignment objects on which the budget check functionality works in SRM?

-> There is no as such restriction on account assignment object. Budget check functionality works just fine in SRM.

Amish : Do you mean that if budget check is happening in ECC based on Funds Management / Investment Management, the same budget check will work in SRM without requiring any changes?

3. Does the commitment get posted in ECC during creation of SC  / approval of SC / on creation of PO? Is this dependent on the configuration set for commitment posting in ECC?

-> Commitment will be posted after creation of SC & it depends upon commitment posting in ECC.

Amish: If commitment in ECC is based on PO then in case of SC also will it work after creation of PO (in classic scenario?) Will SC provide simulation of budget check during creation or after creation?

Hi,

1. While trying to create a SC in SRM will the same type of budget checks (as per ECC) be applicable on the account assignment objects used in the SC?

Amish:

In ECC the account assignment objects used in Funds Management : CC

In ECC the account assignment objects used in Investment Management : WBS, Network, Work Order

-> I am speaking in terms of WBS elements i.e internal orders. It just works fine.

-> Budget check is depends on internal order budget. I am not sure about Funds Management / Investment Management.

-> SC will initiates budget check as there only you mentioned account assignment.

My view is quite related to WBS elements. I am not sure about Funds Management / Investment Management.
