Dear all,
I need to test the web service of MDM. I already deployed MDM Java API and connector in NetWeaver. Then how can I find the deploy unit of generic and BP web service and deploy them and configure the Java Web AS so that it can connect to correct MDM server?
Thanks + Best Regards
Jerome
Hi Jerome,
These Users are the users necessary to connect the repository. Therefore you need to have the same users configured in your repository.
The Parameter WS.Create is used by the MDMCreateRecords web service and so on.
(To configure the BP web services configure this under apps/sap.com/<b>tc~bpfacade</b>/appcfg/Propertysheet...)
The other parameters like host port and language are input-parameters of the particular web service.
Please reward points if helpful.

Robert

Hello Experts:
I am doing a smoke test for the MDM search web services. I installed the required files (all the 4) through SDM and created a search user in MDM and the same search user in VA. When I am doing the test through the Web Services Navigator, I am getting the following error:
Problem while connecting to MDM repository: Material_Ext on server: xxxxxx.com at port: xxxx. Maybe the Repository-Information has not been set correctly at the requested query.
I appreciate any help on this.
Thanks.
I'm having this issues too, and one thing I noticed is that I don't have the configuration/apps/sap.com/tcmdmwsfaçade/appcfg/Propertysheet in the Visual Administrator, but rather configuration/apps/sap.com/tcmdmwscrudfacade/appcfg/Propertysheet . In other words, its not tcmdmwsfaçade, its tcmdmwscrudfacade . Can this be my problem?
I also saw this in the logs,
Caused by: com.sapportals.connector.connection.ConnectionFailedException: Connection Failed: Inloggning till katalog är ej möjlig: MDM Server='192.168.0.54', repository='2545'. Ange namn och ej port för repository för

The swedish part says "Log in to catalog is not possible: MDM Server='192.168.0.54' repository='2545'. Specify name and not port for repository". In the test for the web service I am clearly specifying both the repository and the port.

1) we need install same web-service package as yours SAP MDM relize
2) we need turn user/password for all of types of web services. Web service whithout this dont start(username/passowrd must identically for connect to repothitory from sap mdm console)
3) we need start mdm repository(from mdm console or clix)
4) we need go to web service navigator and select search mdm service from list of services
5) select test, add server name, repothitory name, port, username, pass name and request paremeters(main table name, field name, select condition)
6) run test
Hi Jerome,
Its quite simple.
1- deploy the web service .sca
2- configure the application properties
2.1 - login to visual admin
2.2 - navigate to services/configuration adapter
2.3 - on the right hand pane configuration/apps/sap.com/tc~facade/appcfg/Propertysheet...
2.3 - switch to edit mode and edit there username an password for the MDM-Web services you want to use
Each web service uses the same user and password, which means each repository you want to connect later with one of the services, should be configured for this user.
3- load the repository you want to test
4- navigate to your Web AS http://yourserver:yourport/wsnavigator
5- there you can test all MDM-Web services e.g. MDMSearch

Hi Robert,
Thanks for this information. May I ask whether the users like "WS.Create.User" and "WS.Search.User" in Visual Admnistrator's configuration adapter are used to log on to MDM repository or used to call the web service itself?
In addition, how can I configure the web service to an MDM server which resides on a remote server? I mean, where can I input the parameters like:
repository=Material
host=10.10.10.10
user=Admin
port=2345
Many Thanks + Best Regards
Jerome
Hi Jerome,
you have to deploy also the MDM Webservice Application. You can download this at the support portal. Then you have to configure in the visual admin username and password for the webservice.
Have a look at this <a href="https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700006469642006E">document</a> for further information's.
