We're creating a new PI environment. We want to use FQDNs and DNS instead of a local hosts file.
This means short host names are not possible. All our SAP systems set ICM parameter icm/host_name_full.
Newer systems set SAPFQDN and SAPLOCALHOSTFULL.
Not a single SLD data supplier collects FQDN, therefore SLD is iqnorant with respect to domain names.
This results in PI proxy chanels like http://shorthostname:port/...
I must be missing something basic. I can't believe everyone runs PI on short host names!
Do I have to edit every single proxy chanel with the correct FQDN?
Ken
If you use addressing type as http destination in the proxy receiver channel, then you can change in the http destination and reference the same in all your proxy receiver channels. Then you don't need to modify the server details in all the channels.
Hope that helps

OK. That works for messages. What about monitoring?
Component Monitoring list links for Integration system, Advanced Adapter engine and Proxy runtime for each connected backend (aka Business system).
These "Proxy Runtime <logical system>" appear over and over on the different monitoring pages.
Except for Performance Monitoring (which seems to be covered by PMI<Log. Sys> RFC),
they all seem to use dynamic JCO/RFC with hostnames without domain, which in my environment fail.
Index administration does the same trick, and fails too.
No domain, no contact!
