Wrong Sample Size Calculation in QA32

Former Member

Hi Experts,

We are maintaining sample size in quality inspection plan and defined sample sheme...

In QA32 report layout sample size shows wrongly as 100% but inside the result recording inspected quantity is also correctly captured...

we are not maintaining 100% inspection indicator in Material Master QM View.

for example,

Lot size            sample size

8                              2

15                            2

25                            3

90                            7

150                          15

.

.

We have received lot with actual qty of 70 and also sample size 7 taken correctly in inspected qty inside the result recording...

but the problem here is,

In QA32 report layout it shows 100% qty (70 qty -actual qty received).

pls give a light on this...

awaiting for your reply...

Regards,

PSM

Hi Sathiya

i think it is correct . the lot size you define in sampling scheme it "TO" value not "From" value.

Dear

choose the "use sampling scheme" instead of 100% sample inspection

Want to make sure you/I understand what you are looking at.

Sample size on the layout screen is the entire sample size required for inspection.  But you might see smaller sample sizes indicated in the resutls recording screen when you enter result recording.  The total sample size seen in the QA32 worklist is influenced by things such as the use of partial samples, and destructive testing.

So if you have a qualitative pass/fail visual inspection test with a sampling procedure of 100%, your sample size in QA32 will be 100% of the lot. But for other tests, like a pH test, the results recording sample size might be 1. If you said each tet requires it's own sample, and each tet required 1 ea for testing and you had 8 tests, the sampel size would b 8.  But if the tets can share the same EA, then sample size could be 1.

Its simple. You must have not defined sampling procedure for all MIC's.if a single MIC missed lot sample size will become 100 %

Hi

If you hve not maintinaed 100 % sampling size. Then do three checking

1) Sample size in samplig procedure

2) Base Sample Quanity in Inspection Plan

3) Unit of sample quanity and mateial received is same or not??

You will get you answer yourself
