Hi,

Getting some strange messages - objects which parse O.K before not parsing O.K in last version of .unx.

We changed data foundation and business layer.

Have an earlier version of this in local project.

Will it be O.K to export old business layer to repository?

Will currenct reports using the .unx still be O.K?

Thanks

Hello Philip,

What is the error message you get?

Chaning the DF for the unx under Business layer will work as normal. The main source for the report is the unx name.

Hope it helps

Hi Philip,

If you are not modifying any current objects that are consumed by the reports , everyhting should work fine.

What Changes that you are making in the DF Layer.

Thanks,

Pramod.

Hi,

Just to let you know.

Converted working copy of .unv file to the .unx file and old reports still fine.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi Philip,

For restoring UNX - you can restore using 2 approaches:

1. Restore the local universe .unx version from local. But make sure the business layer are inline with existing reports.

2. In BI4.0 we have LCM tool for version control. We can create a version control in LCM for the required objects and you can restore from LCM. Also this tool can be used to promote across environment as well.

Kamal.

Hi Kamal,

Thanks for update.

What is best way of using version control in LCM?

I tend to just use and copy the .lcmbiar to another windows folder afterwards.

Also any tips on using subversion - we have it installed when we installed BO4 but haven't used.

Thanks
