BRTOOLS point in time recovery

I aam attempting to perform a point in time recovery. I am running AIX and 10.2.0.2.

What I want to do is after taking a disk backup, I want to recover to a specific point in time, for example 1 day after the disk backup using archive logs rolled off to a tape or disk.

Do I use BRRESTORE and then BRRECOVER or just BRRECOVER. I read the BRTools SAP document and got lost with the options and scenarios.

Has anyone got this process work and could you possibly list the incremental steps involved at a command level with options?

I am asking a lot but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Alex T.

why not use brtools which will then invoke brrecover in order to make the point in time recovery? it will help you through the necessary steps...

-> you'll only need brrecover (it will call brrestore when needed)

Dear Alex,

Just before deciding just have in mind that Restore means the structures are restored and Recover means bringing actual data into these structures.

So decide accordingly what u have to do. This depends on the type of bkup.

Hi,

One thing is not clear to me.

When you mention "disk backup", are you talking about BRBACKUP? or have you used other tools?
