SNP: Block Planning during SNP HEURISTIC

Dear  SAP-APO gurus,

Business Case:

We have the group products e.g. "Apples", whcih are low rotating (category C) packed to different format. The change overfor these products with other groups is quite time consuming.

Our purpose is to produce all formats (representing the different SAP codes) during one week to optimize the resource change overs.

Requirement:

I know that there is at PP/DS block planning fucntionality creating charateristics, maintaining blocks at resource master data, assigning clases to product master, etc.

But our purpose is to have SNP planned orders for "Apple" products generated with in one weekly bucket during SNP Heuristic. Is there a way to achieve it at SNP?

Hi Gents,

I have made locally some tests with APO MD. By maintaining Periodic Lot size with conjunction "Lot Size Strategy" for certain materials:

We may achieve a kind of blocks (grouping horizon will be calcualated for all products possessing the same master data) and Lot Size Strategy will ensure creation of the orders at the same week for these products - e.g. at the beginning of grouping horizon:

Note: orders, which were created at Week 22 are the orders, which aim to cover supply shortage. System first generates an order independently if there is lot size startegy maintained.

Should we maintain lot size strategy for certain products as 1 and for the others 2 we may create two blocks:

Again Week 22 is not considered as there is supply shortage.

Pls., also note that this example has weekly procedure and number of weeks - 2. For the other cases, additional tests would be required.
