Issue with Login Screen in MII

Hi All.

Have an issue with the Login Screen in MII. When users enter their login credentials (username and password) the system won't do anything, just clear the user and password fields and no error message appears. The users need to keep trying. Or sometimes close the IE and then re-open again.

This is an intermmitent issue. Is there a way to see any log if there is something wrong on the Netweaver or MII side that may be preventing the user to fully login into the system ?

Hi Guillermo,

What version and SP of NW are you using?

You should be able took in the NW logs for additional error information.

Guillermo - you are actually logging into NW, not directly into MII, however the target URL might help better understand the situation.  What URL path are you using that leads to the login page?

Mike's suggestion to look into the NW logs is also the best place to see if the user information is being received and throwing any relevant error message.

http://servername:56100/XMII/

but have also tried

http://servername:56100/XMII/goService.jsp

It could be a redirection issue and I wonder if a direct page link like  http://servername:56100/XMII/Menu.jsp or http://servername:56100/XMII/Illuminator?service=Personalization  makes a difference.  The direct link to the Menu would not do any client browser sniffing to determine browser and screen resolution (you see the eventual URL showing the results with &sniffer=xxxxxx).

Based upon your symptoms it sounds like it gets stuck where the redirection doesn't happen due to timing or network issues.  I know there were issues with this in earlier MII releases but yours is new enough that I don't see this happening.

Using the Illuminator?service=Personalization seems to be working okay. I will continue using this link for the end users that don't need to go into the Menu.
