Dear sd gurus i have one small doubt that

           when we want to change item category  in delivery (for ex tan to tas) which field we use in vov4 USAGE OR HIGHER LEVEL ITEM CATEGORY?

usage means how particular item is going to behave like text wise

1) Delivery created with reference to sales order: In this case the item category of the sales order shall be the item category of the delivery too. One can not change the item category of the delivery.

E.g.

You mentioned from TAN to TAS - This is conceptually incorrect.

- TAS is an item category for 3rd party sale. In third party sale there would not be any delivery created. Delivery is done by vendor (3rd party). Thus converting TAN in sales order to TAS in delivery is not possible and not business wise logical.

2) Delviery created withOUT reference: In this case the item category is determined at the delivery level. In transaction code 0184 you can do the delivery item category determination.

3) A good exercise would be to compare at item level, VTLA  (e.g. TAN) and VTFA  (e.g. TAS) and observe field "Item category proposal"
