It depends the volume of the business and number of activities involved in warehouse also it is connected to third party systems.
you implement decentralised ware house for small business then the cost and infrastructure is required as one more server is required to manage warehouse actvities.
While implementation phase only it will get decide whether they should go Decentralised warehouse or normal warehouse depends upon Business process.

Well, some processes change. Especially you need to work with inbound deliveries instead of simply posting GR for your POs. And a decentral system always means that data needs to be distributed and integration models needs to be maintained.
There are a lot of places in a SAP system where performance matters are to be regarded and improvements can be made. But in case of a small scale warehouse this is not a factor for the warehouse. Decentralized WM is important for customers with big, 24/7 warehouses. And especially when using TRM SAP recommends to use a decentral WM.
