Hi,
One of my system landscap is running on EDT time zone, but we want to change our time zone from EDT to CUT. Is there any risk after changing time zone for system? Please let me know your expert advice.
Thanks,
Charanjit.
Hi Charanjit,
Following are the things i did when changing time zone in my landscape.
- Suspended all background jobs.
- Took R/3 offline ,stop listener and oscol and stop the services related to sap. Change the time zone, and start all the services.
I didnot face any problem while changing time zone. After restarting have a glance at dumps.

Hi Charanjit,
The general thumb rule is that if you are changing the timezone to one that is hours behind you should stop your system for whatever amount the time difference is so you avoid time "duplication" conflicts. If the timezon is hours ahead it shouldn't be much of a problem.
but in anycase, read SAP Note 1375438 - Globalization Collection Note theres plenty of notes regarding timezone changes.
