Database upgardation error

Hi,

After Upgarding 10g to 11g below error occured.

TNS-12541: TNS:no listener

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

Database mount properly from sqlplus but not able to connect from R3trans.

Probably the listener.ora still points to the 102_64 ORACLE_HOME ?

Try as orasid:

tnsping SID

sqlplus system/password_of_system

if this both works, rdbms will be OK.

Try

sqlplus system/password_of_system@SID

This will do a connect via sqlnet listener.

If this fails, your listener config is defective.

If this works, check the target of sidadm Environment TNS_ADMIN.

There has to be a missmatch there then.

Hi,

First of all, we need more data in order to figure out the root cause. Would you specify the OS that you are running on? What OS user you logged on? Did you checked the TNS service is up?

Hi,

OS AIX 5.1  TNS service working properly. we able to startup n shutdown database from ORASID user. not able to connect from R3trans. log file showing  ORA-01034: ORACLE not available.

To be sure, you started up the database respectively. Then, logged on by "<sid>adm" user and executed R3trans -xd. Could you paste the full "trans.log" after you executed the R3trans, here?

Additionally, check <sid>adm "PATH", "ORACLE_HOME" and "TNS_ADMIN" environment variable. They must be refer to 11g.

first check the Oracle Listener Service is started and if yes then

go...

Run --> cmd --> sqlplus "/as sysdba"
SQL>Startup

if problem does not resolve then check below note.
