First know where u want to start, where u are.

Just an eg to understand the SD Flow:

If you want to buy a Branded PC,first u try to decide which PC u want to buy,

there so many branded PC's available in the market for eg: IBM ,HCL, LG,SAMSUNG etc..,

1_<b>first u enquire about the product from diffrent sources viz ur friends, or from the dealers.</b>

in SAP its called as <b>INQUIRY</b>--

u ll go to a dealer n take a quotation abt that PC which includes whats the configuration of thePC ,price of the PC & how many years of Warranty.-- <b>QUOTATION</b>

then ll decide to go for 1 PC and ordered that PC- <b>ORDER</b>

u receive the selected PC-- <b>DELIEVERY</b>

,and pay the amount .- <b>INVOICE</b>

this is a small eg: just to understand.

Flow will be like,

Inquiry-- quotation-------(pre sales)

order----

---

(Sales)

delievery & PGI

Billing

*take any company as an example , read its business including how many products they have, where they r operating their business, whoz their target customers , on what basis they divide their customers.they have their own outlets or sellling through their dealers.how many plants they have in which how many of them are manufacturing and how many of them are godowns(just to store the stock,no production will take place) etc....,

do one thing select itc company go to the itc website and search for process and what kind of pricing and distribution process they are using ,try to map the itc in the system and what are promotional activities they are doing,

try to meet the itc employees interact with them ask their business process,

other wise try find the information in website,

why i am giving itc as an example is itc is already implemented sap and in itc you will find all practices

Hi Vijay,

If the SAP System is available to you, then you should try to create complex enterprise structure & also try to understand different scenario. You can refer to help.sap.com site & goto SAP Best Practise --> Baseline package --> Select Country --> Technical --> Building Block --> & go through the scenarios in SAP Best Practices. It will be very useful.
