Movement type 557 - Issue from Stock in transit (adjustment posting)

Hi All,

I have a query about the Movement Type 557, which is used to remove(Adjust) the stock intransit.

i wanted to know once we post GI from Stock in transit, the stock does it reappear in the supplying plant ? if not is the movement type directly scraps the material from Intransit stock type.

Please advice.

Hi Santosh

The 557 movement scraps the stock directly from in transit. It does not update any purchasing document or send the stock to another location, it just scraps it. This movement type will only adjust 'real' stock in transit i.e. stock in transit between plants under the same company code.

It should not be used for genuine database inconsistencies. You can see note 392205 for more information.

it adjusts inventory in transit only. it does not effect the inventory in supplying plant.

i got that but i still wonder where does the Stock goes ? if the inventory is not affected, the stock is directly scrapped through the movement type ?
