Hi,

I've completed the EWA configuration for BOBJ 3.1 SP3 as
per the standard SAP configuration guide.

At the last step, when I try to check the OS command via
RCA, it gives me an error.

The SMD log shows:

May 8, 2012 4:52:06 AM [Thread[Thread-5931,5,main]] Error

key=bo.dump_server_aps param= [EXCEPTION]

I'm not sure where it is that I've gone wrong..would be
lovely if you could please helpp..

Thank you,

Saba.

Hi Saba,

You should check whether you have correctly defined the variables for
the SMD Agents according to the documentation in the landscape setup
guide (from link
https://service.sap.com/~sapdownload/011000358700000074392009E/SP18_Sol
Man_Setup_Guide_V2.pdf) on page 190 (7. Add the following properties)

The error message about inconsistent work directly normally means that
the %BOE_DIR% variable is not correctly set. It is important that
in the variable name (ENV_SID_<SID>_BOE_DIR) the <SID> is replaced
by the (long) SID name of your BO system as you have defined it in the
Solution Manager landscape definition tool (SMSY).
Also all other variables described in the documentation must be
defined accordingly. They also need to be defined for each SMD agent
in the BO system landscape.

Please make sure you use the long SID of the BOE Technical System?

Kind Regards,

Roland

Hi Roland,

Thank you for the reply

I've followed he guide to the letter.

In SMSY, I have the following:

Tech systems-->Unspecifed-->BOE_DEV & BOW_DEV (Technical system for Tomcat)

In the variables above, I've set <SID> = BOE

BOE_DIR = E:\Program files (x86)\Business Objects

Please advise..

Thank you,

saba.

Hi Saba,

Can you attace a screenshot of the variables you have set? Is BOE the long SID?

Kind regards,

Roland

Hi Roland,

Here they are..Is the long SID something else ?

Hi Saba,

After the "long sid"  (BOE_BOE?) the string BOE must follow again.

ENV_SID_<long sid>_BOE_DIR

Kind regards,

Roland

Hi Roland,

Should it look like this:

ENV_SID_BOE_DEV_BOE_DIR ?

Thank you,

saba.

Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu !!!

It was a stupid mistake on my part..in my excitement, I'd overlooked that one point..

What do I need to do next to get the report..also, how does one go about configuration of remote DB monitoring..

Thanks once again..u just made my day

Hi Saba,

That is great I'm glad I could be of help. For the EWA report and remote DB monitoring maybe SAP notes 1257308 and 1507629 will help here. Anyway, I'm glad to hear the configuration issue is now resolved.

Kind regards,

Roland
