can any one tell me what are the challenges come while we implement sap sd in any organization?
I see two challenges, for both these communication, documentation, timely reviewing are important:
One of the major challenges - across SD functionalities - is to understand the client's business and to efficiently map it in SAP SD.
E.g.
1) Client's business organizational structure: This has to be efficiently mapped in to Enterprise structure (sales organizations, distribution channels, divisions, sales offices, sales groups, shipping points etc. etc.)
- how many sales organizations? why?
- how many sales areas? why?
- creation of delivering plants? on what logic?
2) Master data, CMR: Customers have to be created for how many sales areas? how is the same customer going to be different in SArea1 in comparison to SArea2?
3) Pricing: Should pricing be done on a customer group level or a material group or a combination of ......etc.
Another major challenge would be to correctly configure "inter-module" functionalities
E.g.
SD - FI, Account determination: SD consultant has to work with FI consultant and business to understand and fulfill the account postings

dear,
the very high level of idea is - project must be successful.
the target is to do a Business 'happy' with implementation and continue a system support / improvements
and even do new implementations later (modules, interfaces,...)
good luck
