JAVA Stack installation for an existing ABAP system

Hi,

We have a SAP NW EHP1 {SAP SEM} system which is a ABAP stack, we need to install the JAVA stack for it[for the same SID]. How do we do it?

Hi Sumi,

As of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including enhancement package 1, the installation option Java Add-In for ABAP is disabled. That is, you can no longer install the Java Add-In to an existing ABAP system.

Source : Installation Guide for SAP NW EHP1.

So, you need to install a separate Java instance with a separate SID and configure the UME to point to ABAP system

Hope you are doing good.

Very easy, just run SAPINST and deploy the USAGE TYPE JAVA on the ABAP server.

Just goto http://service.sap.com/instguides to download the required guide.

i am not getting any option to do a Java Installation to the existing ABAP stack.Can you please ellaborate on how to do this?

Hello Sumi,

I am with Sonia. Java add-in installation is no more as of SAP NW 7.0 EHP1. You have to install Java application server with different SID and maintain ABAP stack as your data source.
