creating project versions using CNS 41.

can anybody tell me in detail how to create project versions using t code cns 41for mile stone trend analysis.

Thanks for your reply,could you please elaborate how to take snap shot of the project using CN71/CN72. for example- what to put in version group or version key.

In both the fields you can put any text you like. For e.g.In version key you can use a particular nomenclature to identify certain types of projects etc..In version group also you can do the same thing. Both these fields are mainly used for reporting purpose only.

means do we need to create simulation version of that project  or create one more project by assigning the versiion profile to project profile and using this profile to create the project. I would like to know how this CN72 can be used to take version of that project.

Please dont get confused. Try running that tcode once and you will understand how it actually works. Best way would be to refer SAP Help too. There is nothing complicated to get confused about this.

Try it once and come back with more specific queries.

Hi Ramakrishna,

In transaction CNS41 follow the steps given below to create project version.

In main menu Goto EDIT--> Scope of Current data --> All Fields

then you will get one conformation popup in that click on YES

then in main menu Goto Evaluation --> Save Project Version

Provide all required input and then tick MTA relevant check box and click on continue button.

Hi Ramakrishna,

For creating version groups & keys, you can predefine version groups & keys like V1_Proj(project number)_(Date)... etc you can develop nomenclature so that it would be easy for you to retrieve the data by inputting standard phrases whenever you wanted. This numbering can be used for both Version key and groups.

As suggested use transaction CN71/CN72 to create project versions. Do not forget to tick the MTA Relevant check box when creating versions using these tcodes.

Dear RamaKrishna,

Use T code CN 72 for creating Project versions. As and when you confirm activities and/or entering actual dates in milestones, create versions. Then you can use T code CNMT for MTA.
