Upgrade - SLD for Netweaver 2004 and 2004S

Hello gurus,

Is there any procedure that we have to follow for the XI 3.0 to PI7.0 upgrade?

Can we have have NW2004 SLD as a common SLD for NW2004 and NW2004s?

When we do the upgrade, do I have to import the new software component from service market place?

Any other things which I should be aware of during the upgrade?

Regards,

N.S

Hi Narayanan,

See ansswers below:

You can use the upgrade Master Guide for all detail steps. At a high level, you will have to run ABAP/JAVA PREPARE and then ABAP/JAVA upgrade assistant. The guide will provide step by step.

No, the guideline for the SLD is that it has to be equal to or higher in version than the highest business system that is connecting to that SLDs. In your example, you will have to upgrade the SLD to NW04S as the highest business system you are connecting to this SLD is going to be NW04S

Swamy,

Here you need to upgrade nw2004 to nw2004S as the PI 7.0 is part of nw2004S platform.

It is prefer to go thru the upgradation guide from SAP Service Market Place. for this you can go with-

https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/instguides ->SAP NetWeaver>Release 2004S--->

Here you can find all master guides.
