Portal in English and Backend in Non-English

Hi,

We are using Enterprise Portal and ECC 6.0. I have installed Japanese language in my ECC system, So if i login to SAP Gui after changing language to "JA", I see all SAP menus changed to Japanese. Similarly if i change the user language in Enterprise Portal to Japanese and login to Portal i can see Japanese menu in Portal and SAP backend menus also appears in Japanese.

But for some reasons i do not want to change the user language in Portal to Japanese and leave it as English, Now is there any way I can make backend appear in Japanese? I tried to change User language to Japanese in backend su01-->Address--> "communication". But no success.

There is a filed named as "Master Language" when you define the system object for your backend system. Check if changing it makes a difference.

My problem is i don't want to make Japanese language permanent for all Portal users, but only limited users. Is there any setting i am missing in user profile?
