MRP to consider plant stocks for WBS

Hi,

We are in implementation of PS module. Our Planning strategy is 40. Demand has been generated by WBS, when we run the MRP plant stocks are not considering, instead new purchase requisions are getting generated. As per our client requirement plant stock to be considered while we run the MRP.

What settings required in MRP / Planning Strategy configuration / Availabilty check control. Will planning strategy 21 (Make-to-order prod./ project) with requirement type KP in OPPS help in considering plant stocks or any other settings required ? .

Please help on this issue

Amaresh is right i think. MRP wont consider plant stock. It will always consider the Project Stock. This requirement has been discussed many times in this forum before. You can search for them and see if any favourable solution was put forth there.

I also vaguely remember reading in SAP Help that MRP considers only Project Stock.

Thanks Experts,

We want to understand how the system is checking available stocks and giving the net requirement when we use planning strategy. We have created Scope of check with 02(Check group) and PS(Check rule) where we have opted for safety stock, stock in transfer, quality inspection stocks are to be considered in availability check.

Can any one clarify how this Scope of check is integrated with Planning strategy and how net requirements gets generated. Also please help us in understanding how this 02-PS scope of check gets linked in MRP & planning strategy.

In OPJK(Order control) we specify this check rule agian for the respective Order type,

Please clarify what order type is to be specified in OPJK, is it Production Order type or the Network(network is also an order). In what way this helps in MRP.

Dear Rau,

Please clarify this. I appreciate, if you can test it in your system & confirm.

As for as I understand, Project MRP checks only Project stock. Looking forward to your reply.

What is the item category of material attached to project & of BOM items? If it is N then system will generate PR for all the items.

Item catogory in BOM is stock item "L" , also in Project builder we have defined material as stock item, but still plant stocks are not considering by MRP.

In Project MRP, system will consider project stock. Plant stock will not be considered for project MRP.
