Dears,

When creating a device info record, I face the error: "Number range  does not exist for equipment"

Message no. IS039

But the number range is defined as you can see on the screenshot attached.

Any idea to solve that ?

Thanks,

Thierno

Hi Thierno,

One possibility, check if this number range is assigned to the 'Std number range category (PM).

Thank you Sachin for your quick reply.

Can you please provide the path or t-code the 'Std number range category (PM)' .

I have looked up i SPRO but cannot find it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The transaction is same- OIEN-  as you did it in SPRO.

Open the transaction

Click on "Change Groups" button on this main screen.

There are two sections on this screen, One is of number range assigned and the second at bottom is of "Number ranges" not assigned.

At the bottom check if your number range is not assigned to the concerned group.

If it is not assigned then select the number range under 'Not assigned" Heading.

Select the number range group check box in above section , once both these are selected then click the button "Element/Group".

Save it.

Hope this will help you out.

Hi Thierno,

As suggested by Sachin You need to Check if the Equiment Category for IS-U EQUIPMENT is added as Elementin Subobject.

1.You need to maintain Groups in Internal Numbers for Equipment(0IEN)

2.Check if the Equiment Category for IS-U EQUIPMENT is added as Element in Standard Number range (PM)

3.If not Add the same.

This should resolve your issue.

Thank you Sachan & Pawan for your reply.

I did what you explained above in 3 steps but I get another error:

"Please select elements first" (see screeshot)

I'm nearing the solution just guide me a little to solve this issue.

Hi Thierno,

1.Select (Tick)Standard Number Range (PM)-Which is already Done

2.Select I(not Assigned(Which is also Done)

3,Click SELECT ELEMENT ICON(F2)

4.Go in EDIT->Assign Element Group(F5)

5.Now the Category for IS-U Equipmenet 'I'would be added to Standard Number range (PM)

kindly Follow these steps and your issue would be resolved.

Hi,

Seems something still wrong.

Try one thing:-

I see you have selected the Not assigned number range "2".

select it again with mouse and then click the 3rd button on top having a "inclined arrow with a sq box attached" to it that is "Select Element" button.

Then you have already selected the standard number range (PM) check box, so click on Element/Group" Button.

I hope this will solve your problem.
