System Landscape in XI environment

Hi,

We are having three XI systems, XID (Dev), XIQ(Qtly) and XIP(Prod) and an EPP (Enterprise Portal). Earlier EPP was pointing to SLD of XID. Now we want to revamp the components and install them in a better way. Currently we are thinking of the following options.

Options 1) Export SLD from XID and import into XIP

  • Point XIP and EPP to XIP-SLD

  • Leave all non-production pointing to XID

Option 2) Export SLD from XID and import into XIP & EPP

  • Point EPP to EPP-SLD

  • Point XIP to XIP-SLD

  • Leave all non-production pointing to XID

Option 3) Implement Full-blown parent/child SLD replication including NJP

  • Requires research. Is this higher risk?

Can you suggest me the better option to maintain the landscape in a better way? And also support your suggestion by providing the suitable documents which will help me to realize myself to understand the same.

Thanks & Regards,

Suraj Kumar

Hi Suraj,

if you design anyway - why not going to SAP preferred solution having only one SLD at all? It make things less complex; define some targets and transport should be as easy as possible.

Suraj,

His suggestion is to have one SLD because it would be easy for you gusy to maintain. Also it would be easy when transporting. If you keep increasing then it will confuse yourself only. I think we will not have any document on this.

Check this doucments which may give you some idea:
