Semantic Layer and Microsoft SQL Server virtual cubes

Former Member

Hi all,

I'm working with Information Design tool for creating a semantic layer fed by a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 database. I noticed that in this database there are some physical structures and some virtual cubes. I'm wondering if it can be a problem to integrate in the semantic layer these virtual structures, if there are some limitations, etc...

Did someone already create a semantic layer on virtual cubes (also in past versions of Microsoft SQL Server, e.g. 2008, 2005...).

Thanks for the collaboration.

Gianluca

Hi

No limitations about common sense on the size of the cube, but this applies anytime when working with BI

Hi Federica,

I thank you for replied. Do you have some experience also regarding integrating Business Objects with SQL Server virtual cubes?

Hi

I have experience with integrating BO with SQL server as it is supported by BO.  It will depend on the specific question you have.
