iw38 printing

Former Member

Hello.

I have sap ecc6.0, oracle 10g , hp-ux. In QAS system from transaction iw38 when i select multiple order and i print with

order -> "print order" , printing is correct (respect collate option page 1,2,3 ...1,2,3).

But in production system for same user, same user setting, same printer, same printer seting printing is made without collate option (1,1,2,2...)

I made comparison between  settings at the user level and printer level, from transactions spad and su01,and these settings seem to be equally.

Seems to be but a problem in setting different between the 2 systems, but i can not realize where to find this different setting,

and as i'm beginner please help me to make necessary adjustments to print in production system from iw38 using collate option.

Regards

Hi,

Are you printing to the same physical printer from both systems? As my initial impression is that this may be caused by a device setting rather than the configuration within SPAD.

Hi

Could you also double check the output attributes tab and specifically the "Process request sequentially" and "Copy Counter" values

From qas system (spad)

"Output Devices"

Access Methods

Dev. type

From PROD system

In both system user has (su01):

And in both tests I used the same printer.

Should also check any setting? Where?

Thanks.

Ciprian,

The "Copy Counter" values are located under the "Process Requests Sequentially" checkbox.

other questions, are you printing always from the same pc?

qas and prd have the same kernel patch? (just because the log is slightly different in header...)

last thing, try to see if there is something related to spool in the creation of the order (notification or communication ..unfortunately i've got no data in my systems..)

Hy,

I disabled from transaction SPRO option "Delete after Output" and I noticed the following .In sp01 , order they are generated "spool nr" is without collate option first page from first order then first page from first order, first page from second order, second page from firs order, ....and so on, BUT on the printer "spool nr"  from sap are arranged in different order of printing such that at the printer out all pages of the first order and then all pages of the second order.

Where is made this setting?

Thanks.

Ciprian,

Do you have the "Process Request Sequentially" option turned on for your output device in SPAD? It can be found on the output attributes tab

Hi Ciprian,

It could be some functional customzing setting as well. Check with your functional folks if there are any settings for iw38 and compare those.
