Hi Friends,
In order to use the SLT replication Techonology, the pre-requisite is to download DMIS add-ons with latest Support Packages.
But, i failed to understand what DMIS stands for, and in what way it helps?
What are these Read,Write and Control Modules? Are they in ABAP ?
When we do a initial load via HANA studio by using SLT, we select a Schema and then filter the Table name. But, how does this Table metadata comes to HANA at first place before we start using the SLT ?
Please advise.
regards,
Tilak
Hi Tilak,
DMIS, as answered by Hicham, stands for Data Migration Server. The DMIS add-on installation makes replication functionalities available for user and also the role SAP_IUUC_REPL_REMOTE will be available only after installation.
The read , write modules (if my understanding of your question is right) are the runtime objects generated when you start replication job for a table.
When you create a new configuration in transaction LTR in SLT system where you specify the schema name, HANA DB connection and source system connection and save it, in the background lot of tasks take place including creation of schema in HANA DB. One of the important task that happens in background when you create a new configuration is replication of tables DD02L (stores the table list) and DD02T (stores the table short descriptions). This is how the HANA studio will know the tables available in Source system.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Tilak:
When you configure SLT connect with HANA, you should see DD02L and DD02T tables under data provisioning. Here you can select the ECC tables that you want to replicate into HANA.
Hope this helps.

DMIS stands for Data Migration Server. as for the rest of the question please refer to help.sap.com (the HANA appliance section), and you will find enough information on the SLT.
