DB13 "clean up" tab deleted jobs from DB14

Dear Experts,

Today when we were trying to execute 'check DB' job via DB13, we accidently click on "clean up" tab option. Later , we found, it deleted all job logs of Brbackup, Brarchive, Brconnect etc  from Db14. we use DB13 for DB check & update statistics only. Then, why it deleted job logs from DB14.It should've deleted DB13 jobs logs (if any). Is there any kind of relation between DB13 & DB14...

Hi,

DB13 and DB14 shared the same job log, where it stored at OS level - /sapcheck, /saparch, /sapbackup adn etc

Cheers,

Hi,

this is a correct behaviour. You can customize "clean up" functionality. Take a look at this link:

Hi Sumit,

What you schedule in DB13 - cleanup log is = brconnect -f cleanup. You can refer to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/aa/fce73a86e99c77e10000000a114084/content.htm for more info.

Hi Sumit,

this page contains the various kind of logs you can delete.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/de/15/01df3a1fd91974e10000000a11402f/content.htm

You can customize the command by yourself using brtools.

Launch brtools executable, then " 8 - Additional functions" and "2 - Clean up DBA logs and tables". At this point, you can choice custom retention for the items you wish to delete or to preserve.

Dear leopoldo,

Appreciate your analyses &Thanks a lot for  continuous support. your findings are proving very useful to us....

Can we customize same command using table SDBAC at SAP level, if yes, then pls guide..

Hi Sumit,

you are welcome

In my opinion, you should not modify SDBAC table. OSS Note

859450 - Maintenance of the DB13-command table SDBAC

doesn't allow to modify the table.

I think it's better fo find another way to clean up only some logs.
