HR Trigger: Start date in SU01 is coming as Date of Birth put while hiring user in SAP HR.

Hi,

While using HR Triggers in CUP, when we are hiring any user in backend the start date in corresponding SU01 Record of user is coming as Date Of Birth of user maintained in IT 0002 record of user while doing hiring action.

The field mapping for User Start & End Date in CUP is done with Start & End Date field of IT 0002 in backend.

But still user is getting created with start date as user's date of birth instead of date of hiring.

Hi Aditi,

Are you doing actions with future dates ? If so, CUP doesnt support future actions and has many limitations.

No we are hiring only for current and past dates, but still the start date is populating as date of birth. However field mapping for start date in cup is done with start date field of IT 0002.

Hi Aditi,

Looks like Birth date is maintained also as start date in the IT0002. Discuss with your HR team on this and see your options to get the right start date filled from any other infotype. Try if you can use IT0041.

Check the following discussion on Start date in IT0002

Hello Ajesh,

I have now checked that when we hire any new user in IT 0002 no matter whatever start date we give it always take the Date of Birth of User. It's SAP Standard. And since DoB is mandatory field that needs to be filled in we have to maintain it in IT 0002.

Now IT 0041 Start Date won't work because in Field Mapping of HR Triggers, User Start Date in CUP is Mapped to BEGDA Field of SAP of IT 0002.

I now changed the Field mapping of User Start Date in CUP to BEGDA Field of SAP of IT 0000.

It's working fine now.

Hi Aditi,

If everyones start date in SU01 is their birth date and most people have access to SU01, everyone is able to see the data. Which is a risk .

Take caution when using IT0000, some time users are hired as applicant hires, then convert to employee later. Such scenarios may fail. So do check with HR team on different scenarios used in the organization and test them !!
