SAP PI: Different Java versions for different SAP servers

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I am facing a problem in SAP PI, in which I have different versions of JAVA required for different SAP PI Servers.

1. The first server requires java 1_4_19 version.

2. The second one requires java 6.0.

So, I have installed both of them.

But, once I have installed the JRE 6.0 it takes this version for both the servers.

So, my first servers IR  and ID are unable to open.

How to overcome this problem?

Let me know.

Regards,

Aniruddha

Hi,

try this:

Start - settings - control panel - java - java and select the one you need to use (as enabled)

Hi Michel,

Thanks a lot for the reply, but I am getting the same problem even now. I have disabled JAVA 6

so as to work on the server which requires 1.4_19. But, not able to open it.

There is a TAB system which shows Java Runtime version as 1.6 only. Whereas in the TAB user it shows both 1.4 and 1.6 do you think anything needs to be done their.

Please let me know.

What OS do you use? After selecting the version as michal recommended, you might want to restart your system and see how that helps.  IMO, Always latest java version takes precedence, this is the way it works.

Hi Baskar,

I have restarted the system, I use Windows XP. Is their anything more I need to do, as I require both the servers and also the servers opens it's IR and with 2 different versions  of Java, the older one Java 1.4_19 and the newer one Java 1.6.

Is their anything else I need to do?

Please let me know.
