st04 data buffer quality differs

Former Member

Hi Friends,

After oracle 11g upgrade st04 data buffer quality is showing 99% but in EWR it shows observed value is 63.6 %.

In DB02 under alert --->alert monitor--->buffer cache is  57 % < 80  % - 57   < 80  3: cache hit ratio below threshold

please confirm which value is correct to note and how to make the value same in both.

Thanks,

Hari

Hi Hari,

DB02 shows current value. Once the value exceeds beyond of the threshold, "alert monitor" shows the warning, but this is not the current value. Click on refresh and see the latest value. Additionally, you can see the fetch date and time, next to the value, on the same line on "alert monitor".

As a result, to see the concurrent value, click on refresh and check the value on DB02. The value that you see under EWA report, reflects the data buffer quality when the report fetched the performance data over the system.

Best regards,

Orkun Gedik

This probably means the EWA check contains a lot of expensive sql statements

You should NOT focus on buffer quality too much, unless you have performance issues.

Hi,

Real time system data can be checked thru ST04 and the EWA is a report which shows you the average peak load of a system (Depends on the data collection time).
