Hi,
From various source, it is learned that SAP do not automatically distribute planned cost of material and service over the time frame of activity duration. As a work around to this can we use cost element to plan cost of material and service in project system ? We do not use automated purchase requisition from project system, so no use in planning material as component other than just a cost carrier. Is this a recommandable work around ? Please advise.
Thanks

Yes, you can use cost element planning if the requirement is to have cost plan distributed over the periods.
You plan the cost for material and services using different cost element to each WBS element from transaction CJR2.

Thanks very much. We can plan material and service cost from transaction CJR2, but the only drawback we found in that, planning restricted to a fiscal year. If activity starts in one fiscal year and finishes on another fiscal year, you have to plan that many times. This issue will be not there if you plan cost element as activtiy/activity element in CJ20N/CJ2B.
