P2V and SAP systems

Hi guys!

I know that SAP supports virtualization but I guess it's more for new installation of SAP products (ERP, Porta, etcl) and for non SAP Products such as BOBJ, BPC, etc in virtual environment.
But when there are SAP systems installed on physical enviroments, can P2V be implemented (Windows environment) ?

For SAP systems like ERP, BI, etcc (SAP Products) P2V works but for non SAP products BOBJ 3.1/4.0, BPC 7.0/7.5 NW, Will P2V work? are there any consideration, prerquisites or some actions to do?
thanks

Hello,

there is no need for a separate statement about P2Ving SAP or non-SAP products. VMware vCenter Converter is supported by VMware, and if you do nothing which contradicts the application's configuration requirements (like changing the hostname), then there will be no issue.

Kind regards,

Matthias

Hello,

There is no different for SAP or non-SAP product when doing P2V.  EMC has developed a proven solution for SAP P2V, if you are intersted in it , you can check the link https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-11443

Guys, thanks for your answer

i have another doubt about BPC CLient 7.0 SP09, In a Windows 7 customer virtualize Windows XP he could install BPC client 7.0 SP09 but some functions of BPC client don't work well.

BPC 7.0 client works on Windows vistas 32 bits and XP professional 32 bits, this detail is in PAM.

Can BPC Client be virtualized? or does it require more components prerequisites?

Any idea?, thanks.
