Self Service Procurement Classic with sourcing in SRM

Former Member

Dear experts,

I want to implement self service procurement in classic deployment, i.e. POs should be created in ERP directly. I have a a few questions around this.

1. Is it mandatory to replicate the PRs in ECC.

2. Is it possible to use the sourcing application (sourcing cockpit) in SRM to source the requirement and create ECC PO directly.

3. If PRs are created in the backend how does the sourcing take place to create a PO in ECC? Can these PRs be accessed through the sourcing cockpit in SRM to create POs or will it follow the conventional sourcing techniques in SAP MM?

Much thanks in advance.

Hi Ali,

1.It is possible to use sourcing in classic deployment. For this you have to enable sourcing in the customizing, below is the path:
SPRO > SAP Implementation Guide > SAP Supplier Relationship Management > SRM Server > Sourcing > Define Sourcing for Product Categories
Here you have choose the option:
Sourcing = Sourcing always carried out OR Sourcing carried Out for items without assigned source of supply.

2.If you want PO to be created directly in ERP, you have to set up following:
SPRO > SAP Implementation Guide > SAP Supplier Relationship Management > SRM Server > Cross-Application Basic Settings > Define Objects in Backend System (Purch. Reqs, Reservations, Purch. Orders)
Here you have choose the option:
Int.Proc. = Always external procurement
Ext.Proc = PO if item data complete otherwise PR

3.If you want PRs created in ECC to be transfered to SRM, you have to use PDP (Plan Driven Procurement) scenario.

Hari

Hi,

1. Is it mandatory to replicate the PRs in ECC

No it is not mandatory to replicate PR's in ECC.

2. Is it possible to use the sourcing application (sourcing cockpit) in SRM to source the requirement and create ECC PO directly.

Yes it is possible to user sourcing cockpit  directly

3. If PRs are created in the backend how does the sourcing take place to create a PO in ECC? Can these PRs be accessed through the sourcing cockpit in SRM to create POs or will it follow the conventional sourcing techniques in SAP MM?

if you want to use PR's created in ECC system to  be sourced via  SRM then you need to Plan driven procurement scenario in SRM.

Hi,

1. Is it mandatory to replicate the PRs in ECC.

-> No. It's not mandatory to replicate PR to/from ECC.

2. Is it possible to use the sourcing application (sourcing cockpit) in SRM to source the requirement and create ECC PO directly.

-> Yes. Sourcing can be done in classic scenario. As you create SC in SRM (assumed sourcing is activated); it goes to Purchaser's Work list.  & then after sourcing process PO gets created in ECC.

3. If PRs are created in the backend how does the sourcing take place to create a PO in ECC? Can these PRs be accessed through the sourcing cockpit in SRM to create POs or will it follow the conventional sourcing techniques in SAP MM?

->If PR's created in ECC then you should use PDP scenario(please refer following links for detailed information). Using PDP PR's get generated in SRM SOCO.

There is not need of conventional MM process if you are using SRM.
