Hallo.

We have a three systems, ECC 6.0 with Oracle 11.0.2 on Windows 2003, Landscape

DEV----->TST----->PRD

Now we need to add a new system QAS so the landscape will become:

DEV----->TST----->QAS------>PRD

QAS will be a copy of PRD

To do this, are the following steps right?

1) install a fresh ECC 6.0 with QAS sid

2) homogeneous system copy from PRD to QAS

or

1) install an ABAP system Netweaver 2004s with WAS sid

2) homogeneous system copy from PRD to QAS

Could you help me ?

Thanks.

Mario

Hi Mario,

You don't need to split it two steps i.e installation of a vanilla system and then homogenous system copy. You have the option of installing a new system using homogenous system copy approach available. You have it in SAPinst so please use that . Please check system copy guides available in the market place.

As for Netweaver 2004s well theoratically you can do it since you are anyways going to follow it up with homogenous copy but why go that route for an ECC installation. Anyways as I suggested do a single shot install instead of the two step approach you plan to use.

As said by Ruchit,  you can use either and R3load based export or a backup (Database specific method) to perform the Homogeneous System Copy Install.  Read the documentation
