SAP BI 7.3 & BO 4.0 Integration

Hello All,

Can you please guide me on integration of SAP BI 7.3 & BO 4.0

With this Integration, do we require Universe designer.

Hi Akshay,

No need to create the Universe.Directly we can connect the BW system from BO.

Steps:

1.First needs to enable the Query for External access.

2.Create the Connection from CMC or Information Design Tool(IDT) for entire Infoarea,or Infocube or Particular BEx query.

3.Directly we can connect the BEx queries from Launchpad or Interactive Analysis tool.

You still need to build OLAP Universe on top of the BI queries that are created in SAP BW system for Web Intelligence tool.

That's wrong info, sorry

the link you sent is for integrating BEX Web (WAD) using the Tomcat Java runtime on BIPlatform . Totally unrelated.

Yes, you can use Universe Designer and MDX in BI4.0, but the simplified story is with Information Design Tool (IDT), and direct OLAP connections using BICS interface.  There is no universe that needs to be, nor can be authored using this semantic layer.

Dear Henry,

As u said, we are using the BEx query in the WEBI report . We are using SAP BO 4.0 We are facing some problem.Some data fields in the webi report and BEx results are not matching .Will you please tell me the reasons. And using the same query we prepared Universe and we are try to match the results, in that scenario not matching even one field .

Hi Henry,

The Key Figures which uses Standard Aggregation or exception aggregation in SAP Bex appear as Data Delegated in Webi.

Thus we are unable to add any conditions on such variables which lead to "#Unavailable" error.

Is there any solution or work around for the same??
