MDM Installation

Hi All,

I have Installed SRM 7.0(AS ABAP)+(AS JAVA) in DB2 as separate Instances.Now I want to Add SRM MDM catalog as separate Instance  in the SRM server.

So I want to know how to proceed with the Installation of SRM MDM Catalog and what are the prerequisites for the same.Kindly help me out ate the earliest.

HI

The MDM is part of SRM

you need to install it in another server and the install the MDM client on the user computer

you need to install on the server

Master Data Server (MDS)

Master Data Import Server

on the user:

MDM Console

MDM installtion note: 1249503

SAP NetWeaver MDM 7.1 SP07 Release 1487853

******

for the installtion you need to run SAPINST (like regular sap system)

Hi Naor,

Thanks for your quick response.I am goin to Install MDM server separately.But I want to know is it

necessary to Install Netweaver AS JAVA first or I can use the Installed AS JAVA which has it's separate

Instance.As SRM(AS JAVA) is already Installed in the SRM server.Awaiting for reply.

Hi

You can connect MDM with Solman using SLD

You need to assign mdm with sld and sld transfer the data to Solman

Now to connect mdm to sld search in MDM installation guide how to do it

I think it's like to send trex to SLD

Thanks for your reply.I want to know how to send data to SLD?As in SRM or ECC we can send data through RZ70 in AS ABAP and we can send data through Visual Administrator in AS JAVA.As I am completely new to SRM-MDM Catalog.Can you please guide me?

Hi Ajitabh,

You can forward SLD data of MDM server to SLD through the command SLDREG

http://scn.sap.com/thread/1390344.

Moroeover SRM-MDM catalog will be configured in SRM Java itself as per your config. So the data should be automatically pushed from Visual admin.

If Not, You need to manually add if any info is missing.

Goto https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/instguides -> SAP Business suite applications -> SAP SRM -> SAP SRM 7.01 ( which ever you want) -> Download the inst guide from there.

Hi all,

Thanks for your replies.I want to ask one question as I got my MDM server Installed in IDES

ECC6.0 EHP5 AS ABAP + AS JAVA.I got 4 different servers as:

Server 1-->>SRM

Server 2-->>Solman

Server 3-->>Ides Ecc 6.0 EHP5.

Server 4-->>Enterprise Portal

Now as my MDM Server is Installed in Ides Ecc 6.0 EHP5.How to proceed further with the

configuration part?Should I configure Sld of MDM first through sldreg command?how to

communicate MDM server to SRM server ,Enterprise Portal server and Solman Server?

Please kindly help me out.Awaiting for your help.
