Dear Friends
As per the requirement we need to upgrade our current DB from 10.2.0.5 to 11g
Can you guys pls share the pre requisites and steps needs to be done while upgrade .
As i m bit confused as i read so many documents . certain question arises in my mind .
1) We do upgrade by OUI , so while upgrade do we select the option Install DB or upgarde DB we are doing only release upgrade.
2) In which scenarios do we select -> install DB option ?
3) what is Opatch and MOpatch ?
Regards
SC
Hi IGL,
In my opinion, here is my answer to your questions:
1).When upgrade oracle from 10G to 11G,it's a process of first install then upgrade.First ,using OUI to install 11G;Then,using DBUA to upgrade 10G to new 11G.
2).see Answer 1
3).Both MOpatch and Opath are a tool to apply patches, and the MOpatch can apply mutiple patches once in UNIX environment.

Hope it helps!

Hi IGL,
The answer is yes. Please go to https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/oracle-download ->Database Patches to download the latest SAP Buddled Patches(SBP) as follows.
After installation of oracle 11G,use the mopatch to apply these SBPs.

Hi,
Standard Installation/Upgrade guide itself a self help document with all the details (Step by step procedure).
Just read the document carefully and perform all the steps mentioned in the document, Keep all the pre-requisites in place before you proceed with upgrade and choose a best fall-back option.
