Netweaver Upgrade from Netweaver 7.0 EHP2 to Netweaver 7.3

Dear All ,

I was trying to download patches/Generate XML from Solution Manager to upgrade my current Netweaver Enterprise portal 7.02 to 7.3.When I reach the select files stage in Maintenance optimizer it gives the below warnings .

EHP Component SAP ESS 603 without suitable Technical Usage! 

EHP Component BP ERP05 MSS 1.41 without suitable Technical Usage! 

EHP Component BP ERP05 ESS 1.41 without suitable Technical Usage!>>>>>

Can please explain me what does this mean ?I want to include ESS and MSS business packages upgrade together with the actual upgrade.I'm not sure how to do ?

Hi,

This issue is to do with the Usage Types selected for your environment in Solution Manager. You need to go in to transaction SMSY and select the system types for your system.

Running the following URL may help understand what types are installed and which ones to define in SolMan:

http://server:5<instance no of Java>00/utl/UsageTypesInfo

Then make these relevant in the SMSY for the Technical System and insert the Technical System SID and that they are Java, where appropriate.
