safety stock

We have a stock of about 4000 nos. in unrestricted.  We have maintained safety stock of 3000 nos. in the material master. When raising delivery for 4000 nos. for stock transport order, system is allowing to do the PGI. But we want the system to allow only for 1000 nos. (4000-3000).

please guide to resolve this

Check the Availability control check settings in t.code OVZ9. Here if Include safety stock is checked, then the system will consider the safety stock quantity during availability check and further confirm it in sales order/allows to PGI in delivery.

Your findings is wrong.  Check in MB51 for this material so that you can see the movement type details for stock posting.  Definitely, system will never consider safety stock for PGI, unless you checked the box for negative posting.

Hi Pooja,

While posting the initial entry stock at MB1C use movement type 561 and post the quantity 1000.

through movement type 565 (Blocked stock) post the quantity 3000.

as per the above system will allow to rise a sale order up to 1000 after that for rest of the quantity as per the availability check configuration it will confirmation date of the stock.It will not draw the quantity from blocked stock 3000.

You can withdraw the blocked stock through T.code MB1B and movement type 343, as per this system post the blocked stock to unrestricted use,so you can use the stock when ever you want.

dear, it depends on how do you set up your MRP 2 tab - say, the service level, the goods receipt processing time, and the planned delivery time,..
