Hi Murthy,

Add the role 'SAP_PS_EPS' to all users in R/3 system who need permission to upload projects from OpenPS4MSP.

Try with MSP2007.

Hi GuruPrasad,

SAP_PS_EPS role assigned to my user ID and upload button is active. We could download projects from PS but NOT able to upload projects from MSP.

Any settings need to be done (mapping of fields in the PS to MSP for various objects)?

Please help us.

Thanks & Regards,

Murthy.

Murthy,

Log says import from MSP was successful.

Now only way left for you is to debug while importing the project. Better take the ABAP consultant's help to reach the root cause of your issue.

Did you select YES in the field "Retain in PS" in MSP to the new objects you have created in MSP?

There is no field like "Retain in PS" in MSP 2003. Please explain in detail.

Thanks & Regards,

Murthy.

Dear Murthy,

I work with MSP 2007 but I believe you must have this field in 2003 too.

If you go to View --> OpenPS

You should have a column called "Retain in PS". If you can't see it try inserting the column.

If you do not set this fill the field with "Yes" the WBS or Activity won't be uploaded to SAP.

Dear Fortian,

Thank you for your response. I inserted "Retain in PS" column and put Yes for all summary tasks & tasks and then uploaded but the same log file.....(no change). we are using MSP 2003. Please advice.

Murthy.

Hi Murthy,

I hope this below notes may help you.

While trying to update an existing project in R/3 PS from Microsoft

Project, during the upload process OpenPS4MSP will display the

modified objects and the modifications done to the objects. Users can

select which changes to upload by checking appropriate check boxes.

Modifications not selected will be discarded while uploading the

  1. project. Please note that deselecting an object will deselect all the

sub-ordinate objects.

Thanks

Hi Guru Prasad,

Thank you for your response. We are not updating existing projects. We are not able to upload new project, which has summary tasks and tasks in MSP.

Please guide us.

Murthy.

Why don't you try to create a really simple project with only one WBS element.

Do not forget to fill the column "Object Type" with "WBS-Element" and the "Retain in PS" with "Yes" and lets see what result do you get.

There is no object type column in MSP 2003. Shall I need to insert this? If so, what field name should I select (WBS)? Shall I need to insert object type for activities also?

I tried with only one WBSE. It says first task should be summary task. So, I created one summary task and one task only. But, if I upload, only project definition being created in SAP.

Please help.

Thanks & Regards,

Murthy.

@Fortian,

Please tell me how to update only dates (if changed) from MSP to SAP PS.

In each message the buttons

should appear. But you can only select one as "Correct Answer" and a few "Helpful Answer" (I do not know exactly how many).

I can't really tell what's happening.

Check the project coding mask (Tcode OPSJ) maybe there is an issue with that.

Also try to create a simple project with just one WBS element , to make easier to identify the problem.

Hi Murthy,

Have you applied SAP note 1413829?

Also refer the SAP notes 1332046, 1333587, 1681703.

I hope it'll be helpful to you.
