Hi,

Header level data is applicable for the entire document say PR , PO etc while the item level data is applicable for the item only.

The header level details will percolate to the item level.

Nerverthless you can change the item level details as per your requirement.

As far as release is considered , it depends on the type of release strategy ( overall or item By item) you use.

Furthermore item by item release is possible for PRs only.

Hope I am clear enough.

Thanks &  Regards

Hi,

A document consists of a header and item level by which header contains general data about the movement (For example, document number, its posting date) and item level contaions description of each item movement.

Generally material document number and the accounting document number are different where
material document is identified by a document number and the material document posting year but an accounting document is identified by the company code, the document number and the fiscal year.

header means it is header level data like invoice amount and qty , item level data for each item wise.

example \; when you go to the shop -- total bill amount and date --header data

item wise quantity wise -- qty and price unit price all details are under item data
