How to configure JCO connection to logon group

Hi everybody

I need to configure a JCO connection towards a logon group

I configure all the properties in the system connections editor as usual, then I flag the "use logon group" option.

In the two more fields I insert the R/3 name (i.e. SID) and the logon group name (PUBLIC).

When I try to use this connection in my transaction I get:

service 'sapmsXXX' unknown

I assume i should configure the entry for the JCO like

sapmsXXX 3600\tcp

as is commonly done for the SAP Gui in windows services file

Where is this done for MII?

I'm on MII 12.1

thanks in advance regards

Vincenzo

Hi Vincenzo

I could create the JCo Connection using the Logon Group. The properties I configured were:

Server: Message Server Host

System: System Number

R3Name: SID of the System

Logon Group: PUBLIC/SPACE etc

Did you provide the same inputs?

Can you also provide your SP level for the MII System?

Hi Partha,

I found out that the file which must be update with the entry above is the "services" file.

In Windows it's under Windows\drivers\etc,in *nix it should be in /etc

After this setting,everything ran smoothly

Thanks Vincenzo

Hi Partha,

I would like to change my logon group from SPACE to PUBLIC, but the GROUP logon group didn't appear, only SPACE. Do you have any tips?

E.G. The logon group was created and is in the SLD.

Tks,

Arnaldo

Hi Arnaldo

Did you mean the MII Connections screen where Logon Group is available? If yes you can manually enter whatever value you want.

If this is not the place where you are maintaining please let me know as this is not very clear in your question.

Regards

Partha
