Hello SDN Members,
We are evaluating the possibilities to upgrade its current development system BW 3.5 to BI 7.0.
The quality and production systems have been updated to BI 7.0 .
The current landscape is:
We are evaluating two strategies to make this upgrade:
Strategy 1 - Upgrade the current development system
This alternative could be chosen, but do not know if it is possible to remove the existing components of XI 3.0 in this instance.
We could not ignore the presence of these components, we do not know if this will become a problem in the future.
Strategy 2 - Install from scratch a new BI 7.0 development system
If we use this strategy will be necessary to provide the customization of the customer, in other words, we need export / import or transport the InfoProviders, InfoObjects, DataSources and InfoSources.
What is your opinion?
Have you ever experienced this?
Thanks in advance,
Edson Alvarenga
Hi Edson Alvarenga,
For strategy 1, you can ignore the present of XI component if you don't utilize/use it as XI system. It posses no threat.
I wold suggest a strategy 3, perform a system copy from Q to D, if feasible. Where you dont have to worry about XI component and perform the configuration again.
Cheers,
Nicholas Chang
