Create Universe based on macro enabled Excel spreadsheets

Hi Experts

We have created several universes (.unx) using the new Information designer tool (IDT). The
connection is done using a DSN pointing at a .xlsx file. This works fine. Now
we want to create a universe based on a macro enabled Excel file (.xlsm). There
are no problems creating the DSN and creating the connection in IDT, but we are
not able to see the content of the .xlsm file. We tried to use the WebI Rich
client also, but it does not support .xlsm files.

Does not IDT support .xlsm files? Is there a workaround we can do to create a universe
based on a .xlsm file?

We are using BO BI 4.0 sp2 patch 14.

may not solve your issue re: .xlsm , but outlines the required steps for consuming .xls files

The steps
in the SAP notes is just what we did. The only differanse is that we need to
use a xlsm file instead….
